Here we have a small sample of the different options and courses that we have available on the menu at our Japanese bar and restaurant, The Japo.
Starters and Salads
To begin with, we encourage you to order the French oysters first. On the other hand, if you prefer to share, then we recommend the yellow garlic sea bass ceviche or a tuna or salmon tartar. In the case of the former it is accompanied by yuzu-wasabi sauce, sempio seaweed and fresh ginger, while the Atlantic salmon option is served with Yuzu mayonnaise, avocado, cucumber, tobico micromezclum and ikura.
Our Japanese menu also includes plenty of greens such as edamame and spicy edamame; a Japanese seaweed salad with a selection of Tosaka banca, Wakame, Sugninori and Miru nori varieties; and our unmissable Hiyashi Chuka, a Ramen noodle salad with chashu bacon and Japanese vinaigrette.
Meat and fish
In our meat and fish section we include options with selected cuts, so you can enjoy the flavor with every bite. In this case, we want to highlight our Gindara (with black cod) or salmon sandwiches, both dishes are accompanied by miso gratin and black garlic rain. If you feel like trying another dish with salmon, we recommend the Uzusukuri Kiiro, in which thin cuts of this exquisite fish are served with a cevichado sauce, tomato and kamcha.
The last dish we want to mention in this section is also one of our favorites at The Beach Club: the miso-cured duck breast with miso sauce on barbecued magnolia leaf.
In the menu at The Japo we offer a very special selection of sushi rolls, all of them made with our own special touch along with quality ingredients, such as Almadraba bluefin tuna.We always give a little twist to the classic makis and nigiris, for example, adding truffled flavors to the lemon fish and salmon nigiris, as well as using different unique "premium rolls"; or our combination of makis, futomakis or uramakis, the particular ingredients you can consult in the menu or ask our staff directly.
Anyone for Dessert?
What would any meal be without dessert! In this international menu we have some of the most popular desserts from Japan, prepared with all our love so that you return home with a good taste in your mouth. One of them is the Kuro Goma Goho, a dessert composed of four different types of sesame in different textures (foam, ice cream, sponge cake and cookie). Of course, our menu could not miss one of the most popular Asian desserts, the mochi. In this case it is filled with a local fruit, the Axarquia mango, because although this is Asian cuisine we never forget what our roots are.
If you are indecisive or you feel like trying a little bit of everything, we have the perfect solution! Order the Tasting Menu or the Pairing Menu at The Japo, an exclusive option in which during each of its three courses you can enjoy our most exquisite pieces accompanied by the perfect drink. Did you think we forgot about dessert? While in the Tasting Menu you can savor the traditional Japanese flavors of mochi, the finishing touch of the Pairing Menu is a fluffy matcha sponge cake accompanied by matcha ice cream and three Matcha milks.
